Pathology Resource Network

Pathology Resource Network offers expertise in the pre-analytic and post-analytic phases of the laboratory cycle. Our scope is not limited to laboratory billing, laboratory compliance, laboratory information systems, logistics, accounting, and human resources.

Laboratory Compliance

At Pathology Resource Network, we strive to improve laboratory quality and encourage laboratory compliance with regulatory requirements. We assist the laboratory in exercising due diligence to detect any on-compliant activity to allow internal correction of the issue. Our goal is to prevent, detect, and mitigate any legal or regulatory failure. We provide resources to the facility to reduce the negative consequences of external investigations of noncompliant events, improving medical staff confidence in your laboratory.

Our Pillars for Success:

  • Audits: Our team can conduct an audit of CLIA requirements of laboratories as requested and it would be conducted by Compliance Specialists.  The audit results will be communicated to the senior management of the facility and updates on compliance activities will be provided.

  • Education: We assist facilities on self-auditing tools to allow self-evaluation of laboratory compliance on specific issues.

  • Monitoring: We assist the laboratory manager through periodic laboratory visits, evaluation, installation and validation of new equipment and laboratory testing. We help monitor critical regulatory functions, such as proficiency testing and assist the laboratory manager on corrective actions processes.

  • Consultation: We have compliance specialists available during the CLIA/CAP/JCAHO inspections if needed.  We provide access to regulatory compliance experts to assist in the mitigation of identified deficiencies or issues.

Billing

Pathology Resource Network is a participating provider with Medicare and Medicaid, in addition to most private insurance plans. We provide comprehensive laboratory billing services, as well as a team that ensures efficient and accurate billing processes. Pathology Resource Network performs the entire billing process, from insurance verification to denial management. To ensure patients' receive the continuity of care they deserve, we also obtain prior authorizations for molecular and genetic testing. This ensures that testing is covered, and reduces the financial burden that patients' may experience.

Human Resources

HR departments act as a liaison between employers and employees to help ensure both are well equipped to do their jobs safely and effectively. While some organizations have an in-house HR department, others may use an outside firm. In either capacity, HR managers help maintain the structural and organizational integrity of the workplace. While HR may sometimes be regarded as the disciplinary arm of a company, in reality, it bears various supportive responsibilities. From making sure employees are paid and receive benefits to overseeing employee development.  HR departments and managers aim to create a workplace where both employers and employees can thrive.

The main functions of an HR department include the following:

  • Recruitment and hiring

  • Training and Development

  • Employer-employee relations

  • Maintain company culture

  • Manage employee benefits

  • Create a safe work environment

  • Handle disciplinary actions
